I'll have to look for them, but they do exist! Billy knows of them as well! As do others...

I did it that way and it mounted fine. Although I still can eye ball it along with the barrel and it still looks crooked. I just got my m38 in today as well, I looked down the barrel and its crooked just the same, why are they all like that the rear sight mount alignment to the barrel and front sight is not very true.

I just mounted it and im gonna try to sight the scoop in with the rifle as is and see how it does im tired of playing with it. I hope it does ok, if not I will have to go to plan B
I never noticed the offset as it didn't seem to have much effect on the final result. Using a laser bore sight the scope sights-in just fine.

Since nobody makes a 7.62 x 54 chambered bore site...
Here are pictures of the .204 laser boresight inside a 7.62 x 54R case. I just used a tubing cutter and then a single wrap of scotch tape to rejoin the case. Drilled the base out to access the on-off switch.

I am still looking at buying a Ruger .204 so this will have a dual use.

how'd i get stuck searching for 'dang'ed' (spoken loosely) sniper pics with original style mounts and scopes showing in pics, and info for the different styles/models....i couldn't find shizz(spoken loosely again)....we need a good censor program attached to the forums for young readers, so i can vent correctly

that way it'll come up as: "this %&(%$# piece of ^&($ ^*&%^# GAHHH!!!!!!!"

Have you thought of giving this new stripped screw removing tool a try? If you haven't seen it advertised, watch the video. Looks like it should work, but until I know someone personally or get it and try and use it myself I can't say if it does or not.

I think he is having the same problem as me, the head isnt stripped the threads are and it wont tighten or loosen. In my case I was able to just pull them outbecause the treads where gone.

Im directing my future postings on my scope to the "scoping a mosin" thread, I guess this would be the right place for it, I didnt realize that thread was there.

Yeah it just says "remove the rear site spring" but it doesn't say how. So newbies like me sit there staring at it just thinking well if I remove this pin...ten we say awwww hell it should be fine over the spring...big mistake lol.

I can see what you mean. I have not done a scout scope, but it would seem that once you remove the rear sight leaf, there should be an indentation or small cut out on the forward edge of the spring. If you can get a little leverage there I would think it should pull up and out. Again, I haven't done one (scout mount) but the sight is was it is.
