| Senior Member ![]() | Well guys and gals I bought a 95 and I paid more than you are looking too but its in ex shape. I have not fired it yet, but did not want old cor. ammo so I bought new hornady ammo. It's more expensive but reloadable. I got my ammo at cabella's, 8x56 hungarian on the box. The rifles are said to work well, but do have a little kick to them. I have loaded up pistol bullets in some cases to try them out. I had to use 8mm lebel revolver bullets, as they are the only ones that are .330. cases, bullets and so on are availible at graf and sons. |

| Senior Member | Prvi Is tooling up, production for Styer ammo in April! I copied this post I made to someone else's Steyr question: I actually just bought a Steyr at Big5 as they had them on for $79. The one I got looked awesome on the outside, but I gambled on the cosmoline covered bore... luckily I ran two patches through it and I think it is the nicest one I have now. LIKE NEW. As to shooting, I have heard the ammo has been hard to come by for a bit, but a local gun shop here has some so I bought about half of what he had left. I really like how the stripper clips work, as all you do is pop them in, fire the rounds, and after the last round is pushed into the chamber, the clip falls out the bottom of the magazine with a ping reminiscent of the Garand. Not to mention that all the shells and clips have little war eagles on them. Prvi is supposedly starting to make this ammo in April too. I was surprised by the accuracy, even for my lack of skill and the sights being dialed in to "Schritten" which is somewhere between a meter and a yard. If you get one, the battle sight is actually 500 schritten, and they designed the ladder sight sort of weird, you have to flip it up and then slide the sight leaf all the way to top. I am very pleased with this cool little gun! p.s. The only downside is that it kicks the CRAP out of you. Gun and Game Forums - acarpenter's Album: My collection...so far. - Picture |

| Senior Member | Sorry, my money's tied up in accessories for my AES-10. Just bought a scope and now need to get the mount for it. Then I have to buy some Lauer's mag-park solution to do the flash hider. Already bought some 5/10 round mags to turn it into a designated marksman weapon.

| Military Rifle Collector ![]() | I have 2 Steyrs. The straight pull is a lil sticky thats why it never became popular. They are fun to shoot and after you get the hang of them you find the straight pull not so bad to cycle. The old Nazi 8x56R ammo usually comes in its own stripper clips. The bolt is pulled back and the rifle is loaded from the top. After the last shot the clip falls out the bottom of the rifle. This ammo just seems to fly. We shot clean through a 12 inch tree with this ammo. Left a nice exit hole. Because the rifle is smaller and the cartridge is powerfull there is a noticable kick when you shoot it. Not too bad to take down to clean but I have not dissassembled one completely yet. Seems kind of strange shooting the Naxi rounds. They have the Nazi Iron eagle on them. A lot of people bought a clip or two just for collector purpose. A few years ago it was very cheep to purchase because no one wanted it. In the pic they are laying on the floor. |

| One Buwwit Weft ![]() | Ok. I'm in on the test. My only suggestion is that a new post is started, with a sticky, so everyone gets a fair chance to know about the whole deal. Just a thought.. Also, since we all know how evil Tex is, I'm offering my watchdog services to keep an eye on him while at the range, for free..
