Oops...

This past Saturday I went to go shoot my new Yugo SKS.

It shot great. We (my dad, little brother an myself) put 100 rounds through it no problem.

When we just about ran out of rounds for it, I got out the 91/30.

Shot it once or twice...

And then I missed once. Like really bad...

And I hit a tree. ^_^' Oopsy.

I snagged a few pictures so you guys could see what a 7.62x54R does to a tree... if you didn't already know of course. :]

It totally wasn't my fault.

But that's what happens...

My point to this whole post:

Don't shoot trees. It's not nice.

did it graze the tree to peel the bark? Pretty sweet, i'd tell people it was on purpose.

Haha.

Here's a nice view of where we go...

It's a nice spot, if you can get past all the cow poo' laying everwhere.

I'm surprised that I haven't hit a tree earlier... There's a bunch!

At least it was a stinky ol cottonwood tree, or so it appears. Their only redeming value is that they produce oxygen when green.

*looks at pics*

Dude... I need to go hug/fondle "Bethany", "Svetlana", and "Ivanova"... my 91/30 ex-sniper, and two 91/59's, respectively. (by the way, this post is the first debut of the "twins'" names... I decided on them last night). The 1943 one is Svetlana and the 1938 one is Ivanova.

If you had used FMJ there would be a small hole in the front and a hole in the back with a lotta bark hanging out of the hole .I have a young hickory tree I didnt get cut down and prop card board against it to find first range siteing I really does tear up what ever it hits
