So I got cut off by a rice rocket on my way to the range today....
1st off I have S'ed, B'ed, & C'ed about my closest range before....but...
I get there today, walk up to the front booth, tell the guy what I have and want for the day while i'm filling out the release form, he walks away???? I wait about 5-10 mins and he's back, he was smoking a ciggarette???? So then I tell him again what I want and have for the day and he says got your hearing protection? I say yes, then he says, got your eye protection? I say yes and point to my glasses..... He says noooo that doesn't count. I say yes they are OSHA approved eye protection and they are my prescription glasses. He says nope.
I have shot here about ten times since I moved to the area and never had that problem.( I have had numerous other problems) Him being the only guy there I had no one to take my issue to, so I told him that the range was rediculous with all their rules and left. As I walk away I hear a comment that I'm rediculous.
I have never been so outraged at a range master. Poor service and a rude and confrontational remark. Needless to say It's going to be worth the drive to the next range down the line.
Any Seattle-ites I would recomend avoiding the Kenmore ranges.
I did refrain from responding but felt like hopping the counter and...
Shooting is a huge part of my life especially since I left friends and family to be here in Washington. I have had nothing but negative exeperiences since I arrived and they seem to be getting worse.
Horrible day today. did I mention it snowed again.

If you lived in east Texas you would be grumpy too! WAY too hot and humid for this transplanted South Texan any more.

Except for the fact that:
A: My truck blew a valve stem last night and I had to pull the wheel this morning to get it fixed else it would be Monday...
B: We went in my Dads truck which rattles and squeaks like an old truck....
C: We had to wait at the job site until someone would come along and open the gate...
D: I had on a Tee Shirt and needed at least a flannel...
Today went pretty well.
Wind is blowing WAY too hard to shoot!

Well went to a gun show today. Saw a 1925 ex-dragoon, but didn't have the front sight. It was only $119. The show is also on tomorrow so might have to go back and pick it up. Problem is that I am saving for an M1-Garand. Well then I ran into a guy with 7 1903-A3's. All were really nice. Two of them were rebuilt with USGI parts and then never re-issued. Man I wish I had the money for one of those, but again I am trying to save for a Garand. Now I am really torn as to what I want.

What condition was the stock and barrel in? I just picked up my first 91/30 and it is an ex-dragoon from 1926, i paid $130 for it at Gander Mountain if that helps at all |

The barrel was decent and not counterbored. The Springfields had brand new or like-new barrels.
