It used to happen a lot a few months back when we started growing by leaps and bounds. Chris changed to a different server and it seemed we had it nipped in the bud. The fact that it righted itself within minutes is testament to the better server.

..."back in the day", it could be overnight before you could access G&G again.

The HORROR! We would all have to go back to spending time with our spouses!

(I'd like that though.)

Dear members I contacted Chris about the Band Width issue that croped up and he is on top of it.
Here is his reply to me.
I hope after reading it, you see the exhaustive pace this young man keeps. A.H

Re: Bandwidth exceeded
Hey Mike,

I've been hit by work trying to work me 100 hours, a few final exams, and me just not wanting to touch computers after all of that where I didn't pay attention to G&G as much as I should have.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Makes me sad this fine young man gives up so much of his time where all of us can have a good time...A.H

Welcome back Tex. Hasn't been the same without you. I bet you got a lot done though.

AS for the momentary lapse of reason... I'm just glad this site is here.

Thanks Chris.

Well,

I hate to say this, but the site admins should look at google ads and adsense and try to make some revenue off the site. That way it could perhaps lessen the burden of paying for bandwidth, because hosting and bandwidth is not free. This forum is free to everyone.

I would suggest you get with a more reliable host that will allow for more bandwidth and on top of that perhaps start looking at adding some minor google ads to the sides of the forum so you can generate some revenue to put back towards the monthly costs of this site. There are actually tasteful ways of adding google ads to your site with out having pop ups, or make it look extremely tacky.

I once read that Google was spending around $10k USD on bandwidth for a month. Of course google has exponential amounts more bandwidth go through it than this site, but to you an idea it is not always cheap.

Maybe if more members donated to the site, we could afford more bandwidth!!!!!!!!!
