Targets

Anybody use a unique style target? Or just whatever you have?

I take a piece of notebook paper and put a Hoppe's 1" blaze-orange dot in the middle to shoot at. They're bright enough that I can see them in the dim indoor range we have at 25 yards on just irons with my glasses on.

when i shoot for groups i always use the back of an NRA target (i like the paper)
draw a grid and put small orange price tags in one corner of each +
like so.

a roll of those price tags lasts me about 2 years of weekly shooting.

I have to have black bullseye with a red dot esp with the Mosin Nagant open sights.

Maybe I should try out some different targets.
I shoot great with my 03A3 sight, but open sights tend to be hard for me to get a good group. Maybe I need a new technique...

I sure hope so. I know the guns I have problems with are accurate, because some days I will do really good. And then days like Friday...CRAP.
Maybe its how I am focusing on the targets.

i like to use "shoot-and-see" targets. when you shoot it it leaves a yellow ring around the hole so you can see realy easy where you hit with out haveing to retreave to taget to look. only bad thing is there a bit expencive.

The targets I use have a large skull in the middle instead of a "bullseye"

I'm probably going to start taking binoculars to the range with me so I can check my accuracy between cease-fires.

I bought a cheap 20X Browning spotter scope at Wally World, and it works fine. I don't know how you can shoot at the range, and see where your shots are going, without one. but then the eyesight aint what it used to be.

I got 9 of these (brand new Full) for targets the next time I get to the parent's farm! We will build a fire behind them first, get back about 100 yards, and POW!!!!!!!!!!!!
