Ok, so I know this may be a little off subject, but I just gotta find out. I have read before that in 1910 the Russians modified the M91 to fire a new 7.62x54r round that had been hopped up and loaded with spitzers instead of the original that was a little softer on the punch and loaded the old blunt nosed slugs. Now, that's probably the reason that the designation went to M1891/1910. The question is, did these modifications happen right at the beginning of the 1910 production year, or in the middle, or even the end? I ask this because I have a M91, or M1891/1910 that was made in....you guessed it....1910! And, I'm having problems with the bolt getting stuck and not being able to pull the spent shell outta the chamber, hence why I've only shot it two times in fear that it is a major problem. What I'm wondering is could the problem be caused by my rifle being made for the older lower pressure blunt nose round and here I am loading the hot spitzers causing the case to swell and get stuck??? Any info would be great! I've been trying to get more info on this modification subject for, oh...say atleast eight months with no success...Please help! lol Thanks.

From all the chatter on this thread heres how the Mosin progressed(Russian Models only):
1: M1891 Infantry Rifle
2: Dragoon Rifle
3: Cossack Rifle
4: M1891/07 Carbine
5: M1891/10 Carbine and Rifle
6: M1891/29 (Carbine?)
7: M1891/30 Rifle and Sniper variant
8: M38 Carbine
9: M44 Carbine
10: M1891/59 Carbine

Seems like someone in Russia likes carbines
Rifles:5 or 6
Carbines:5 or 6

Someone have info on the 91/29?Rifle or carbine?

And rearsenalled in 1939 and 1945, so now it's a 91/10/30/39/45.

Not to mention the two actual cleanings it received in 40 years, because Ivan Jr. was a lazy soldier. He figured with all the rain and pee that went down that barrel it was plenty clean anyway.

Another good reason to clean that MN when you get it, as that whiz didn't always make it down the barrel.

didnt make it down barrel cuz his pecker got blown off? ouch....

and with the ammo pouches....i just use an old camo cloth one i got, or my back pocket works well enough....not like the ammo is small enuff to fall out easily, unlike .22cal rounds....
