Nice rifle. The M44 is fun, and still the most favored by my friends who have shot my guns. And yes, it will kick, knocked over a girl that shot it Saturday, she was done after that.

Take my advice!!! Put on a slip on butt pad!!! It sure tames the recoil and increases the fun factor!

I did put a limbsaver on it, I couldn't keep from laughing the first 15 shots. The muzzle flash and dirt and grass going 25 feet into the air was too much. I like it and want more.

oh, if I were only that young again!

Ya, I kept hearing all the celebrations on making 1000 posts. Then I was at 873 or something, the next thing I knew I was well over 1000. I think it was that tussle with Bigfoot that put me over the top!

You did well to get a '48 -- that's a very desirable year. I have two 1948 M44s, and both are beautiful guns.

try to keep away from the Bear series (Brown,Golden and Silver), they have fed very poorly in my Mosin

If you can, try to find Prvi Partizan(brass/reloadable) or copper washed Wolf (non-reloadable), a little more expensive but worth it in the long run

you were at 965 when i joined G&G in January, so i think the Bigfoot discussion did make you hit the 1000 mark
