c&r

hey everybody, as you may know i live in chicago, il. ( a hell of a place to find good gun deals around here). i was pondering the idea of a c&R license but had a few questions. do you think i would be able to get one since i live in the city? do you have to have a business to "run it out of" like you do for an ffl? if they are only 30 dollars and transfer fees are like 40, then why isnt everybody applying for licenses?

You can get the license, but why? Nobody will ship to the city. And a lot of places won't even sell to people from the city. I mean maybe you can go to like Wisconsin gun shows and buy a gun, but locally could be a problem. Get some sense and move away from Daly's gun grabbing city.

Pretty much!!
I think there's a couple places that haven't blacklisted Cook County and the surrounding area, but most won't sell to anyone in that area.

I'm 90 miles out of the city and I still can think of a couple places that are restrictive..

Although it's sort of off topic, Winnebago County, IL is moving on getting concealed carry rights for the county, which would force the hand of the rest of the state..
Check out the info here http://www.illinoiscarry.com/

The county board is working on it, and it's already got a 2/3 in favor of it. This includes the city of Rockford.

So very true! Hopefully, Wisconsin will follow suit. I would not carry regularly but I want the right to do so.

Some places around here they don't even bother to conceal... a much better deterent than c&c. I mean who is going to "mess" with a person with a 1911 on their hip?

I like the idea. having an armed populace, with the necessary training and skill to use a sidearm, does have an upside.

The 03-FFL was put in place so that collectors (of Curios and Relics) can purchase firearms, interstate, but not as a business, but as a collector.

Too bad about the Chigago hassle paparoach. But if I remember correctly you are too young for an 03-FFL anyway. Right?

The Sheriff in said he wanted to make sure that IL got CCW before WI in order to keep the riff-raff in Beloit from migrating 15 miles south into IL to cause issues.. He said Rockford's got enough issues..

I got my Utah permit last week.. It'd be nice to be able to legally protect myself with it.
