| Registered User | Where to get a M44 Scout Rifle Scope Mount I am looking for a scope mount that attaches to the rear sight holder. Can somebody point me in the right direction so I don't buy trash? Thanks Last edited by gulfdiver; 06-08-2008 at 08:44 PM. |

| Grumpy Old Fart ![]() | Welcome to G&G gulfdiver !! Go back and read the numerous threads on Scout rifles. There are quite a few, and they should provide you with what you need to know.

Don't overtighten the screws (these are steel screws in aluminum threads!!!)... and... On a carbine (M44 or M38)... REMOVE and DO NOT USE the rearmost elevation screw (the one that toutches the front part of the breech). It is there for mounting on 91/30's (which incidentally have a nice barrel-cut mounting rail hiding under the rear mount assembly, so you really don't need the cheapo rear sight mount). I also cut the mount to fit the length I needed for the scope, so there is no overhang. I have used the cheapo system for a couple of years, on Camo Natalia, and it works fine. It does require rezeroing occasionally, but nothing major.

| Mr. Fixit ![]() | Try B-Square: Rings & Mounts or Darrell's Scout Mount Forum - Hunting - ParallaxBill's Curio & Relic and Military Surplus Firearms Forums - Message Board - Yuku The mount that Darrell makes is generally considered to be the toughest, most solid mount available for M\N's.
