| Senior Member | Swapping out bolts in Mosin Nagants....safety probs? The headspace might change correct....? What other stuff could happen? I did see a difference in trigger pulls too.

| Super Moderator ![]() | If you use the Original Bolt Head on a different bolt assembly , the headspace should not change at all...The bolt head is fit to the chamber for headspacing... Rich

| It's been said alot but I'm not sure people pay enough attention to it; Always check or have checked, the headspace before firing a surplus even if it's all matching. For a good piece of mind I always go with the idea that if I change anything then I will recheck the headspace just to put my mind at ease. For about a $25 investment, you can get a field gauge and check it yourself. Shooting is alot of fun but be safe! |
