Butt plate for post war M39 Stock

Where can I find a butt plate for a post war M39 Stock? The one from my wartime stock doesn't fit.......it's about 1/2"+ too short. This post war stock is unissued........doesn't even have holes for the butt plate or the sling attachment.

lemme get this straight... you need a buttplate for one of those new m39 stocks floating around and the regular m39's don't fit? what did the guy you bought it from have to say? i'm gonna go out on a limb and guess it won't be too easy to find. hope i'm wrong. if it were me, i'd probably just look into getting some steel and making one or go with a recoil pad.

So let me see here. You have a M39 stock (with or without barreled action?) with no slots for the dog collars and no buttplate, that has no inletting and no screw holes for the steel buttplate. I presume it has the inletting to mount the action and the magazine?

If you want to sell it, I'm serious about buying it. Boris Badenov would be a lot more fun to shoot with a good thick buttpad on him! PM me if you are interested.

Talking

Thanks Smokin' Nagant and Steve for the links. R5CYA and Cyrano......I have a new M39 stock without any metal. It has the inlets for the sling attachments......one on the side of the stock and one on the bottom without the screw holes.........no big deal. I have 2 M39s. One with the original wartime stock and one with a post war stock. I want to take the old wartime stock off and store it and use the postwar stock at the range etc. The buttplate from the wartime stock won't fit the new stock. The buttplate from the M39 with the postwar stock will fit the new one. My dealer has 4 M39s with postwar stocks and the buttplates on these rifles will fit my new one. See whut I'm sayin

Steve I tried both MILSURP and Reich and neither had what I needed. Both are good sources for MN parts tho. Thanks again.

I know I don't have the skills needed to make one of these.

Could you measure yours from the top of the plate to the very bottom and at it's widest point, and I'll look too.
