In a gun situation with sharp recoil, I find that the JB Quik Weld works better. It is rated as half the strength, but it isn't as brittle either! I kept 'shooting' the front sight off my .22 WMR handgun, using regular JB Weld. With JB QuikWeld, it has held on for a couple years now!
On the other hand, my CETME's Weaver scope rail has held up through many hundreds of rounds, using regular JB Weld - the receiver doesn't get as hot as a barrel would, though.

you can also try your local r/c model shop, or model rail road store. They have all kinds of epoxy, rtv, fibreglass and all types of adhesives for all types of applications. My local store has one (I can't remember the name) that I used once to repair a model airplane motor, it reqired use ob carbon fiber, fiberglass, or some sort of metal mesh to get a good bond, but I bet it'll hold a sight on. it come in rigid, semi-rigid and pliable bonds.

But you said you don't need it now so Never mind!!!!

I was going to drill the pinholes and epoxy the 2 pins in for an extra pu base I have but decided not to, cause I'm lazy and the 2 screws hold the base just fine.

btw this is the mosin I had the posp scope on, I've been wanting to mount this on it for quite some time.

And yes that scope is temporary until I get a proper pu scope and a steel rings to go with.

Now you guys know.

You know that if you mount the scope UNDERNEATH the rifle, you don't have to stick your head up so far. Much safer.

glad you worked it out.

I just love it when troubled minds come together.

Nicely done. When I get released from the group home, maybe we can have a beer.

What about "Mighty Putty" that stuff that I see advertised on TV. The stuff that if you wait, if you act now they'll throw in 6 sticks instead of 3 or something and the stuff can supposedly pull a semi? lmao
