Confused!! Urgent!

I need to know how to get that silver plate thing out of my mosin. I got that no gunsmith mount in the mail and I think I need to take it out. I got the rear sight out, just need to pluck that plate out. I'd like an answer within a few hours as I really want to get back to the project. Thanks!

EDIT: Yes I got it! I just had to push the indent forward while lifting it with one of those hex things. Thanks to wunhunglo and SwedeSteve for the help! :-)

It's a leaf spring.

Never having done it on one of those but it looks similar to other leaf sights, I would be tempted to grab the front end with what we call needle nose pliers and pull/slide it forward & up.

hmm I tried that... with no luck. Am I supposed to take out the really tiny pin in the back of the site thing?

take a punch pin and put it into the little hole, and hit it with a hammer out towards the open end. should come right now no problem
