They can't slap you when they have a dislocated shoulder!

Maybe that's it. I'm slowly turning geezer. Shoulder bruises WERE a sign of serious manhood. Now they just hurt. Where's my aspircreme?

Seriously though, I love rifles where the recoil is such that each shot can be preceded by the famous last words of most rednecks: "hey y'all, watch this!"
Wait a sec I always say that before I do something dumb! I wonder why?

Just might. I use a PAST on my shoulder under my shirt. But I am slowly, but surely, getting a project rifle together, and that screw on pad might just be the ticket !!

while the recoil from my Moisins punched my shoulder, for some reason the comb of the stock hits me in the cheek bone and really hurts. after a couple hours at the range I felt like I was in the ring with Muhammed Ali. I put My m-38 in an ATI stock and that really tamed it down. now its no worse than any of my other rifles

Same-same with my no5's, but they wouldn't look right and are only for fun so they stay original & I'll put up with the occasional punch in the mouth.

That's why I only ordered one. I'm going to see if it works before considering putting them on all of the Mosins.

If it comes to comfort, or keeping them original, guess which one wins with me.

Besides, you can always put the metal one right back on.

Exactamundo !! I am going to build a hunting carbine eventually, and the rrecoil pad would help with the length of pull, and the scope eye relief.

EDIT: 23JUL08; I just ordered one, so I'll let you know.

UPDATE: I received the recoil pad yesterday and all in all it is real nice. A little stiff, and a little too long (about 1/8") on the bottom. But that can be ground off. Probably better to be too long than too short.

Ahhhh, ya buncha sissies.....just ingest lots of calories and bulk up real good. Fat absorbs recoil. Works for me anyway.
