My new addiction is multi-cultural!

My new love and addiction for military rifle is on the edge of being out of control!
First it was the M1 Garand, then the Enfield.

Now I've gone Eastern European and bought a Izhevsk M44 at an auction today! The stock's not in great shape, but it looks like it'll be fun.

Now I just have to get the cosmoline out.

What's that crater looking thing on the stock?? Also, nice gun! I've always wanted to have, or at least shoot, an M1 Garand :-).

I believe it's for a sling. The stocks bad, but not that bad! It's definitely not a collector but it's intact and I look forward to shooting it.

Now, where can I find ammo?

1945 Izhevsk. I'm pretty sure it's not matching numbers but I haven't inspected it thoroughly - just a quick once over! I think the bolt has a different number, but is also Izhevsk.

Best way to find ammo is to order it online from places like AIM Surplus and J&G. Check out the link below to find dealers.

Curio and Relic Firearms
