Wont eject round! HELP`

I finally went out today to shoot a 91/30 I purchased on gunbroker.com a month or so ago.........i know no excuse for that kind of delay. But my issue is it fires great and is accurate but the round wont eject! I am guessing there is something wrong with my bolt..........very novice at these kind of issues. Can I do anything about it?

Are you having trouble getting the bolt to rotate, or does it rotate and not pull back to eject the round?

get a shotgun brush.
chuck it in a drill
put some solvent on it and scrub that chamber!

Yeah that's the real question. Is the extractor not grabbing the round or when you fire and pull the bolt back the shell won't come out?

Correct the bolt extractor is not grabbing the spent cartridge. it is staying in the bore

You'll either need to drive the case out of the chamber with a brass rod\wood dowel\etc. or use air pressure to blow it out. Before you do that, though, pull the bolt and see if the extractor hook is still there, ie: not broken off.

buy another mosin

or you could find the parts online. I would personally get a custom bent bolt and just replace the whole thing.

Springfield Sporters ask for Russ, or www.tngunparts.com ask for Layne.

If you use the same bolt and replace the extractor you will be fine. If you use another bolt though you should check the headspace. You may still be OK but it should be checked.

Also, as long as you have a M44 there, take that bolt and use it in the 91/30 to extract the round.

Saw three up for Bid last night on Gun Broker.com Type in Mosin Nagant and everything Mosin will come up 10 pages total, Listed as extractors for Mosin Nagant started at $11.95 each. I bought one about three weeks ago from same person through Gun Broker.com . Also if you can not get one of those, check on buymilsurplus .com Mark has them and whole bolt heads with extractors intact. Make sure to check your head space, as this may have been your problem from the start, the case may have swelled up and forcing the bolt back snapped off your extractor. Good luck, let us know how you make out.
