Talking m39 100 yard range report

I got out to the range last Sunday. It was great shooting weather about
75 degrees. I shot 2 of my M39's at 100 yards with Iron sights. The 2nd pic has 4 shots in the top right that I shot with Priva P. hunting rounds,
the rest are Milsurp rounds. We met some teens there sighting in their deer
rifles. Their girl friends were covering their ears,I gave all 4 of them some
disposable earplugs and helped one of the boys adjust his scope so he could get on paper. He dialed in his rifle a little more and was shooting a 3 inch group before they left. There was about 20 people there, everyone
behaved and was safe . All in all it was a good afternoon at the range

Looks ok to me. I wish I had an M39.

I thinnk that will bring home the bacon! I just wanted to thank you for saving those kids ears. When I was a kid we thought it was just uncomfortable to shoot with out ear plugs. Now I have a hearing loss and a constant ringing in my ears because of it. AND I started WEARING ear plugs even when I hunted when I was in my early 20s!!!

People don't realize it only takes one session of shooting with out ear protection to do permanent damage.

Then again....I'm preaching to the choir on this one. Sorry, I need to go back to bed.

Lookin good at 100yards with iron sights. That = 1 dead critter.

Do you mean Prvi Partizan ammo? If so it's too bad you aren't shooting hand loads. For me, using a scope on my M44 the difference was between a scattered patten (similar to yours but tighter due to the scope) and a 2" group in the 9 ring.

I've had very good results with Winchester Metric/Sellier and Bellot (same ammo from the Czech Republic) SP, and lessr results with Prvi Partizan/Wolf Gold (also same ammo from Serbia) SP. But the cheaper Serbian brass, while being cheaper and lighter weight, does reload well.

If you are going out hunting might as well buy the good stuff (~$18 - $23 for 20 rounds).

^+1 for similar reasons. When I was a kid my dad and I would go out shooting, and we wouldn't wear earplugs. I was about 4 and was shooting a .22 Bearcat revolver. Always rung my ears. Dad didn't notice because he was already deaf. I started wearing hearing protection in Basic Training but it's too late. I'm 33 yrs old and every other response I make is, "Huh? what'd you say?"
