| M-44 Bayonet Lug - Part 1 A while back I reported difficulty removing the bayonet lug and sight assembly from my SOG "Gunsmith Special" Hungarian M-44 (I couldn't drive out either pin, even after heating with a propane torch -- bent a perfectly good punch trying!). Anyway I gave up trying to get it off, so I cut off the "ears" that the bayonet attached to and then filed and sanded the stubs down and polished with 600 grit paper to make a smooth flat surface that didn't look too bad.
