that's why I hardly ever buy from shows. our local Big 5 is selling rearsenaled 91/30's with all accessories including bayo for $129.99 while the last show I attended had one (and only one!)m-44 that looked like it had been used to drive tent stakes and the guy wanted $100.00. hmmm, I wonder which is the better deal? LOL...

I can't believe Swedes are going for $300 !!!! Back in the 80's I bought one at Woolworths for $69 bucks! Shot it about 30 times, then traded it for a 700 watt cb linear....stupid, stupid, stupid!

I'd sure like to see a BIG 5 somewhere handy in Oklahoma too, whirlwind. There is one down in Wichita Falls, TX. I jumped in my truck one Saturday morning about a year ago and drove down there. The inventory was very, very small. There was one military surplus bolt action rifle on the rack as I recall....a Swiss straight-pull. I wasn't impressed.

Perhaps things have improved there. Wichita Falls is a nice little town.

How bout we get SOG or Wholesale Guns to open an outlet down here!

yeah, you never know what they're going to have when you go in there. I don't know if it is the same at all Big 5's but ours receives all gun shipments on Thursday so I usually try to stop in on Friday morning when I'm home. FWIW they have locations in Abilene, Amarillo, Lubbock, Midland, and Odessa which are within a reasonable drive from Ok. as well as several other stores in Tx, and N.M. and I have seen them in Az. and Ca. as well. the first time I went in to ours, I ended up passing on a mint cond. laminated 91/59 for $129.00 and when I made up my mind to buy it the following day it was gone and I haven't seen one in there since, @#$%^&*!!!

Thanks for the Big 5 directory, toolman! I had not seriously thought about expanding the gun shopping horizons til I read your post.

Now, let me see.....if I leave at 0200, I could get to Wichita Falls, Abilene, Midland, and Odessa by lunch.....then Lubbock and Amarillo (or, as my youngest son used to call it: "Armadillo") by sundown.....or, stop to take in some George Strait and make Amarillo by morning....

Good stuff......good dreams......back to work.

Mosin Nagant. There; that should qualify this otherwise useless post.
