Mossberg SS1

Hi,
New to forum and I'm trying to find barrels or entire rifles. I have 2 Mossberg SS1 single shots with a 243, 30-06, 30-06 ackerly barrels. How ever I'd like to find other barrels including the 12 gauge. If anyone knows a dealer with one or has a rifle or a barrel for sale please post or contact me. Thanks in advance.

only place i know of is at www.cdnninvestments.com

down-load their catalog and you will see a SSI complete gun in 12 ga listed for i believe $199.00

once upon a time they had other barrels available-----you can call and ask if they have some laying around as everything does not make it into the catalog....

good luck

Thanks for the info, I only have dial up and it would take me about 3 hours to download their catalog so I will have to call them Monday. I did email them so hopefully they will respond favorably. Hows the crime down their? Ive got 29 years in here, 24 as a detective. Been out of work 3 months, broke right wrist while arresting a local dirtbag. I have a 30-06 barrel for this gun in 30-06 ackerly? Been told it will still fire the regular ammo. I don't reload so I am trying to find someone to reload my brass or sell me some ammo. Any ideas?
Thanks for your help.

Spent 20 years on a fair size PD with scars and broken bones to show for it..........and the last 3 years at a small rural S.O.------it's quiet in my little corner of the world now-a-days..........

as far as your 06', if it is a 30-06 Ackley Improved---then you probably can fire standard 30-06 ammo in her. It will just re-shape the brass to the "improved" form. Get the opinion of a qualified gunsmith as i know nothing of your gun and the conversion it has...........

if i might suggest---go to the handloading section of this site........good info there and you can get started reloading your own Ackley Improved ammo with the appropriate equipment and reloading dies......

reloading is a fun hobby for me that also just happens to reduce ammo costs.

You mention barrels for sale but no prices, selling individually or as a pair?

Do you still have the 308 barrel? If so, what are you asking? Also, is the 223 the varmint or sporter?

Hm, seems to be a pretty popular rifle as of lately and not many barrels to be found.

Guess its been well over three years since I bought one of about six clearance 308 SSI rifles at a Gander Mtn store here in Houston for under $240. About a week after purchase, had a conversation with a Gander employee, who'd moved to Houston from Minnisota when Gander opened stores here. Gander guy recounted a phone call he'd made to Mossberg trying to get a part for a SSI rifle. Mossberg person on phone, informed him, SSI no longer in production and no parts for it available. Think the Gander guy commented SSI only available for about a year and that it had been a decent selling rifle for Gander. Anyway, during this conversation with Mossberg, he was informed all machinery/equipment for SSI production and entire spare parts inventory sold to another company. But Mossberg person refused to reveal who buyer was.......big secret at time, grounds for being fired if buyer was revealed.

Well that sucks for anyone that has one.

And I suppose doing a search now doesn't bring anything up?

Mossburg SS1 223, follow up

With my SS1, I can ring the swinger, at our range, at 300 meters, almost every time. This gun is a HOOT to shoot! Wonder why Mossburg quit making it? It's really a nice gun!

I have a SSI-One 223, and I would love to find a heavier caliber barrel for it, anyone still have one they'd not mind parting with? 308, 270, 30-06?
