forend broke..

I went to load it, pulled the forend back and pushed it forward.
but it didnt load.

the part where the pins are holding the forend to the arms just kind of snapped.

my question is, will mossberg replace it?
or will i have to buy it.

this sucks.

I sure did mis-interpret what that title meant.

well that depends on if it s under warranty. contact Mossberg, and see what they say.

duct tape works wonders if'n they refuse.

its a newer mossberg 500.
has that one peice plastic-like forend.
it has these pins that are connected the the action bars, making them move.
well, the part on the forend that holds the pins in broke,
so there is really no way to fix it without contacting someone and getting a new one.

I would try to replace the 500 forend with the forend from my 88 security.
but the 88 only has one action bar, the 500 has 2..

dont really know what else there is to do..

and totally unrelated news.
my alternator went out on my contour.
i looked at it, and its completely buried underneath the engine.
shotgun one day, car the next.
this sucks.

EDIT: I got the 500 probably about 4 to 6 months ago, out of the box.
so it's fairly new.

Fore ends aren't very high...ATI Inc. makes nice stocks. I doubt mossberg would replace it after 6 months.

On the other problem...Chevy makes nice vehicles. LOL

Call Mossberg! I have 3 Mossbergs and 2 Mavericks, both brands are covered by Mossberg and their customer service is very good. It might take a couple of weeks to recieve the parts but it's worth it.

The Customer number is 1 203 230-5300, have the serial number of the shotgun ready.

I've seen where they are trying to save money by eliminating the action assembly and attaching the arms directly to the forearm. I thought it was a bad idea and have avoided those models.

That's odd, but look around. Parts for the 500 are readily available. As for the contour, it is one of Ford's junk cars a lot like the Tempo used to be. As for GM....I wouldn't touch them. Go Honda or Toyota. Can't go wrong with them.

I've heard the 2011 fords will have heated tailgates...so your hands don't get cold when you're pushing them.

Hello
The new Maverick 88's have 2 action bars. And they are pined in to the forend.

yea, i called them up and all they said to do was send the broken piece in with the serial number and what all i needed.
i received it probably about a week after i sent it out.

when i get some money, i want to get the action tube assembly and the nut for the front of it. prevent anything like this from ever happening again.
and, i've also seen some pretty nice aftermarket safety buttons on ebay and whatnot that i want to check out eventually.

as for the 88's, i bought mine used for $75 i can imagine its a little older, as it only has the one arm.

and, my car still sucks.
