Savage ML110

Does anyone have one? I found this forum after I started a thread in the Manufacturer forum so I will say it again. I am thinking of getting into muzzle loading to expand my options for Drawing permits. I have read some glowing articles and I am taken by the inovation of Savage with this rifle.

Thank you

HI, I have wondered about that model. I think the concept of using smokeless powder for a muzzeloader is pretty cool. I think the only downfall to m/l'ing is the cleanup. Do you know if there is much between shot, cleaning?

My understanding is that cleanup between shots is not necessary when shooting the smokeless powder. Very appealing to me. It seems though that this model rifle is a best kept secret so to speak. Hopefully someone that ones one will offer their opinion soon. I have read articles in other forums and magazines and it has been very well received.

Isn't this the gun with the Accutrigger (adjustable)? I've heard and read a lot of good things about the trigger and it's been my experience with guns that the trigger is what really separates it from the others. Of course there are other things but generally speaking a gun with a bad trigger is hard to shoot.

Yes, it does have the Accutrigger. A good trigger makes a big difference for sure.

I'm surprised no one has responded to your request for info. I would like to know more myself. Not that I am unhappy with my encore. I wonder if smokeless is comming to other brands.

I am sure if anyone here had experience this the ML110, there would be a response. I expect other manufacturers to follow up with smokeless model muzzleloaders in the future.

What don't you like about your Encore?

I have the Savage 10ml 11. This model does not have the accu-trigger. I think I was a year too soon and They don't have one to fit. I clean mine at the end of the season and it works perfectly. Never a malfunction. I even left it charged all summer once and it fired perfect. As far as strong, when I first got it I left the ramrod in it and shot it. It was one heck of a wollop to my shoulder but I thought I had dumped in double powder charge till I tried to load it. That ramrod is still in my bunker. Think about all the pressure it endured. To the guys that like the dirty powders go ahead and use it in this gun but you'll have to clean it like all the others. You have that option with this platform. I can't say enough about it, I just wish Savage would make an accutrigger to retrofit this model. I've thought about buying a new one and selling this one. Pellets would be nice and I can use them if I want but I'm too lazy with my cleaning. I'd rather have a 45 gr pellet of IMR4227 but that won't happen unless Savage does it.

To AK HUNTER, I am head over heels over my encore. I just think the ease shooting the smokeless would be nice. I had some trig time today. I shot 4 times. This t/c product I use BORE BUTTER makes the between shot cleanup quicker. I looked hard at the 110ML, I just figured the changeable barrels would be good. I do think I'm going to get the trigger worked on. The ACCUTRIGGER I've heard many good things about. I look forward to your review should you get one.
