| How did the hooky day go? I'm getting out the Colt Walkers Saturday. They have been quite for about three months, time to make some noise. |

| Shooting was as good as a 25yd range can be. I decided after a couple of loads to wait, my tax refund will be here in 2 wks. which means my new LEUPOLD will be in my hands. Then my whole world of muzzeloading will improve. I can't wait. KODIAK 32, Please explain your weapon.

| They are 1847 Walker Colt reproductions, made by A. Uberti. The Walker Colt is an oversized cap and ball revolver, weighing around 4.9 lbs. It was the first revolver adopted by the US Army. The Walker was the most powerful revolver made until the .357 magnum was put on the market in 1935, almost 100 years not bad. The Walker Colt was the first of the series of large handguns produced by Colt. The following models were called the 1st Model Dragoon, 2nd Model Dragoon and the last of the series was the 3rd Model Dragroon. The Dragoon's were basically improved Walkers, slightly smaller in size. All of the Dragoons saw service with the US Army, espically the 3rd model which was used widely in the civil war. If you have ever watched the movie "Outlaw Josey Wales", then you have seen Walker Colts. Clint Eastwood carries a pair in the movie and uses them often. Here's a link Walker Colt - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. |
