Blog Entries: 6 | 1855 Springfield (Armisport) I have a Armisport M1855 Springfield and I have got to tell you the trigger pull on this thing is TERRIBLE; slow, heavy, rough. I know that back in the day this was not to terrible because you didn't have to be too accurate to hit a wall of men 200 yards away, but I want to take it deer hunting this year and damned if I can't hit the broad side of a barn with this thing using minie' balls. I am a fairly good shot with modern rifles, pistols, and even with my original 1863 Remington Zouave Rifle-Musket using patched balls, but when I bring this thing out, it is embarrassing! Any ideas? | Take er to the gun smith and see what he can do. It might be it just needs cleaned. But I imagine it will need some work.
