HAVE YOU SHOT YOUR ENCORE MUZZEL LOADER LATELY?

I haven't in a few weeks and it's killin me. A friend brought over his T/C Hawkins, unfortunately it only misfired. My friend forgot to clean the slug of Bore Butter from the barrel before loading.

No I haven't but I'm gettin the itch. I don't have an Encore but I do have the same as your friend's gun, the Hawken. I use bore butter and only bore butter and have never had an FTF in 32 years. Wonder what he's doing wrong?

Before the first shot of the day, before putting in the powder pop a cap with the gun's muzzle in the grass and watch for movement and smoke.

If you don't see it, pop another one.

Don't get in the habit of blowing down the barrel.
