Unhappy Sabot slug stuck in Barrel

We have a Mossberg 500 with a 50 caliber black powder barrel. We loaded a Sabot with Pyrodex that misfired. We now have teh Sabot stuck in the barrel and cannot figure out how to remove it. Any thoughts or resources that can help would be appreciated.
Thank you!!

I'd just remove the barrel and drive it out with a wooden dowel. If you have an air compressor, you can also blow it out if you can get a good air seal between the air nozzle and the barrel, just be sure to point it in a safe direction when you blow it out.

Now is the Sabot slug the rifled slug? I forget which is which as I don't shoot either often enough to remember.

If so, is the barrel on that rifle, rifled?

If so, isn't that where in the problem lies? I only say that because I was told not to use a rifled slug in a rifled barrel. Is that accurate info?

I saw a kit last weekend that was just for this problem. It was a fitting that you replaced the nipple with, and a small co2 cartridge that blew the bullet out.

Sabots are easy to remove by getting a bullet remover or screw and screwing it on the ramrod and running it down to the bullet and turning it and tapping on the ramrod at the same time until the screw ,screws into the bullet and then pulling the bullet out.And then you have to go after the sabot. They make a tool for that but I always just did the same as I did with the bullet and screwed the bullet puller through it and pulled it out.Just remember to turn the ramrod clockwise as you tap on it and it will screw right into the bullet.once the bullet is out the rest is easy. Also, those co2 thingys do work most of the time, but be sure to have the barrel pointed in a safe direction. sam.

Sabots for muzzle loaders are a handgun bullet that is inside a plastic sabot which seals the gasses and follows the riflings. They wont work good in a smoothbore. As to shooting rifled slugs in a rifled barrel, even in a shotgun it can be done, altho they usually arent as accurate and dont have the range of a sabot. Before sabots on ML,s they used to use soft lead bullets that fit the lands and cut the riflings as you pushed them down the bore.Sabots cut riflings but they are plastic and it is much easier than lead. sam.

Use a puller or just pust it out the breech.
