| ML Kit
In the near future a Hawken kit will be coming the way of a buddy of mine and he's looking to put an extremely authentic stock finish and barrel brown on it. Anybody have any home made finish recipes?

I think he settled on a Traditions flintlock kit. I know he's planning on Birchwood-Casey Plum Brown as i have a recipe for rust browning i ran by him but it's probably going to be much more expensive ordering the chemicals to cook up the solution. I'm trying to con him into a chewing tobacco stain with a beeswax/tongue oil finish.

It should be a pretty good gun. It in no way resembles a Hawken but does come fairly close to a Tryon trade rifle of the 1870's
