| Upgrade to .45? In the FAC catalog is a 1911 style pistol called a "Blue Thunder". It's around $300. Has anyone ever heard of these? Is it possible to get a decent 1911 for this price? I don't care if it's made in China or Bulgaria or whatever. If I can shoot my 9x18 Mak fairly accuratly should I be able to handle the recoil from a 45 ACP? I'm also considering the FN/Argentina Army Hi Power. Can anyone recommend an affordable .45 or 9mm for around $300? THANKS!!! Shane |

| but as yet its still NIB!!! but it looks good. large easy to pick up fixed sights. but magazines are crap. replace it with any good 1911 mag, and i believe most 1911 parts will work. they are made by S.A.M. in the Phillipines. sorry i couldn't help more. but theres not a whole lot of user reports available any where. |

| I think Papa G. has a Blue thunder. The recoil from a .45 isn't that bad, some people are recoil shy and you hear stories about it'll break yer wrist and stuff. It's crap, held properly,it's not that bad. I like those Makarov's pretty neat guns. |

| Have you seen the Arcus? It's a Hi-power copy that's been running about 3 bills. comes w/ a 10 rnd mag, but I've been told that hi-cap Browning mags will work. Someone else here may know more about them than I.-UR

| .45ACP is nothing you can't handle, especialy if you can handle the sharp MAK recoil, the recoil on .45 is more of a thud than a sharp hit. -Jesse

| Basically, you should buy a higher quality .45 pistol. I won't argue the relative merits of the "Blue Thunder." I'm not putting it down, because I don't know much about it. However, at $7.50 - $20.00 for a box of .45 ACP ammunition, you can't afford to shoot a .45 if $300 is this pistol's primary selling point. Just being honest...
