Smile Hello PLease Help

Hello everyone I have been shooting for about 5 years and have had a very sucsessfull hunt this past november... An 8 Point Buck and a Doe (Both white tails) The buck dropped in one shot at 75 yards and the doe took 2 shots running at 50 yards. I was hunting from a stand in my grandfathers woods.( i was using a .44 Mag by Ruger barrowed from my grandpa) I also love shooting chipmunks squirels rabbits crows and groundhogsall with my .22 at my cabin ( i live in a city and my dad dose not like guns so i have to keep all my stuff up at my cabin )

So the problem arises My mom said instead of getting me a class ring she would pay $150 twords a gun of my choice. But, here is the real problem... i have no clue what the gun talk means these days... i have not found a book like "guns for dummies" or something like that... and all my searches on the internet lead me to crazy sites like http://www.imao.us/archives/000894.html

i just need to know what all of the "gun talk" means...

I did buy a gun last weekend http://www.remington.com/firearms/sh.../870supmag.htm I bought it from my grandpa never been shot for 200$ (he gave me a good deal and showed me how everything worked) And my mom sorta gave me her .22 pump action fieldmaster (she got for her 19th birthday from her dad) so now my gun collection is up to 3 guns my new shotgun the .22 and my Bb gun

the reason i bought the shotgun is beacaseu i thought it would be more versitile than anything else and most places in minnesota you cant shoot rifles deer hunting anymore... Also my cousin (shes 13) just bought a 20 gauge mossberg 2x barrel overunder i couldnt let her show me up

all of your help will be greatly appreciated!!!

WELCOME to G&G, Pat!

It might be easier for us to answer a spicific question for you than to try to print a primer on guns in this limmited space. There are many here who are more than willing to help, myself included. So, ... fire away! -UR

Yep, first you need to identify what your immediate needs are. Home defense? Hunting? Plinking? Target/Competition?
Handgun or rifle?
Do you have any interest in historically interesting guns, or military types? Or do you want new guns?

Lots of room for talk here.

And a big welcome to G&G!
