| You probably have checked everything, but I know my single shot break action gets really hot, really fast and stays that way for a really long time. Take something to read next trip to the range, give it several minutes between shots, with the action broken to aid cooling. If I flail away with mine, it`ll start putting shot gun patterns on the target at any range. Maybe it doesn`t like the ammo either. Make sure it`s all tightened up too.

| I recently went to the range with my new 223 Remmy 700. Tried several brands of ammo with mixed results. From 100 yds using Wolf 55 gr FMJ the best I got was 10 shots within about 6". Switched to Ultramax & got 7 of 10 within a 2" circle. Try different ammo would be my suggestion. |

If two shooters use the same rifle and get two diffrent POIs that could be accounted for by parallax. If one shooter exactly centerd the target in the reticle and the other had the target off to the side of the reticle then thre would be two different POIs even though both shooters had the crosshairs dead on the target. | |

| Zen900 that is a much better response than stating the whole thread was parallax.

| I have experienced wandering zero problems on more than one occasion with Simmons scopes. Also know people who have had really good luck with Simmons products. It just wasn't me.

| parralax or shadowing is something we all deal with, my son shoots 2" left of me and i know its shadowing as i shoot other peoples rifles fine and they shoot mine fine. But as long as he puts the same shadow each time it seems ok for him, actually he can shoot 100 times better than i could at his age. BTW i cant shoot his rifle cause its 2" right for me........ |

| I'm lazy and don't walk down range until I have to. So, here's my two cents: Post a target at 100. Don't shoot it, shoot the dirt mound instead. Pick out a rock at low power and "Walk the gun in" until you are reasonably sure of where you are at, then transfer to paper. You kill multiple birds this way. Gets your barrel fouled so you can begin to predict whats going to happen. Saves you from the math of guestimating where its going to be. Very simple and only costs a few extra rounds of ammo that you'd have to shoot anyways to get the bore fouled. Good luck. |
