Anyway, my youngest and I have gotten in some dove and grouse hunting lately. Anybody else of the trouble of work seriously cutting into hunting time? did the dove hunt down at San Antonio, NM and the grouse hunt just west of Cruces Basin Wilderness east of Chama. Had a blast. The elk muzzleloader and archers were in there thick. I only saw one cow though. c'mon, you guys, we need some updates.

I'm new to ABQ (still officially a Colorado resident) and won't go hunting in NM until next year. I post here when I can. Work is so busy I can't get out much (though a trip to the west Mesa range is coming VERY soon). Filters at work prevent accessing any personal email or most web sites (except news sites). I drew in Colorado for elk (season 4, Nov 11-15) and deer. I'll make the deer hunt east of Pueblo but will pass on elk (Walsenburg - south to NM line).

I havn't posted here in a while as I didn't really have any updates! hahaha. I am a busy college student and the only updates I have to offer are "studying for my next test" lol! I did make it to the range a few weeks ago to test out my new M1 Garand. She shoots like a charm now that she has been all fixed up. I am not a hunter so I don't know what the different hunting places are.

seems like the threads and posts in the powder keg have bee really boring. same repetitive subjects, hardly any controversy, thus nothing to think about, with few mild exceptions, everyone agrees, no fun, not learning much. boring, ho, hum. gun sections are still good tho. pat |

nmhunter, I guess I post something new here. I completed my 4 year CCW renewal about one month ago and just received my new card today. That's what I call fast service! At least for a government bureaucracy.

I check every so often and see if anyone posted. We don't have all that many NM posters. I like the idea of a roll call every so often just to see who all is here. Anybody in? The 1st week of each month? good idea or not? Sound off!!!

I need to get to the range. I am upset at a co-worker he showed me a site for Glock 20/21 conversion to a .50 Cal - Gun cost 600-700.00 and the conversion kit $595.00 from the company. I have the link at work will post when I get home.

Turns out I'm one to talk. It's been over a month since I've been on the site. Think I'll catch the last day of grouse season tomorrow. I'm thinking of going someplace just south of Penasco.

We have a camp on the San Marcos, Dove were good last weekend there. Went out and shot some clays about 12:00 noon and then started the BBQ. Sit there for a while and all those dove you spooked flew across our field and we added five more to the pit. My friend shot three with his Browning Auto, # 7 1/2, and I got two with a ATI modified 19" Mav 88. # 6 long range. |
