SUIT scope???

Does anyone have any experience with the SUIT scopes? I have seen these for sale lately, and have been thinking about one for my STG-58(FAL). I think the inverted pointer is a little weird, but other than that, I think they are neat. I am also interested in the ELCAN, but that is a bit out of my price range. Does the kit to illuminate it just light up the reticle, right?? Also I have seen "cams" for 7.62X51 and the 5.56. So, I could also put this on my AR-15 if I had a mount for it. What are the "ears" you have to trim off of the cover for an L1A1, to make it fit metric FALs? The mount I saw at this past gun show looked like it would fit a metric FAL, and the vendor wasn't much help... I think for around $250 for a scope and mount, it doesn't seem like a bad deal.

Does anyone know the history of these scopes? What countries all used them. Were they on all the rifles(L1A1), or just some?

Any info would be helpful. Any place have a better "grade" of scope? What is the magnification?? Who all made these scopes? I saw one that had some sort of "middle east" language on it...

Pros: a "true" military scope, fairly cheap, mount for a FAL rifle, lighted recticle,

Cons: commercial scopes better???

I am not after a great target scope for shooting at 1000 yards... I do not want a scope for that because my FAL isn't for that. I am just interested in shooting with it at 100-200 yards(further if I find a new range to go to....) and get respectable groups. Any thoughts and or experince???? Thanks.

AR-tim... I can't answer your question.....but have you tried the Trijicon Reflex......I'm in love with it...but I think we are talking about two different kinds of scope.........mine's zero magnification...close range....amber dot....etc.......

That should go to one thats up for auction... A little pricey, but thats what it looks like. I know Tapco sells them, under the FAL/optics section..
