Found a really good deal on a refurbished Nikon scope. My question is, how does this effect the warranty? And have any of you guys ever owned a refurbished scope, should I go ahead n pay the extra 100$ for a new one?

There is a Busnell outlet store that is close to me. I have bought several scopes from them and had to have a few repaired but the have been really good about repairing and even replacing the ones that i was not happy with. I do not think twice about buying a refurbished scope.

The warranty on a refurb. is 90 days. Just so you are aware, these are not scope's that were returned as defective, they are one's used in show's,sent to writer's or other's in the industry who wanted to test them out. Yea, Nikon really does sent out that many to be evaluated and written about.
I have not heard one instance of a refurb. scope going bad but that certainly doesn't mean it couldn't happen. I just wanted to make sure you were aware before you buy.
