I don't mean to double post, but this is the update! I bought a Leupold VX-II 4-12x40mm scope. It was mounted and sighted for me by a very good friend and gunsmith. Thank you for your suggestions. I am very satisfied!!

Did you throw that Simmons away? I have a new 110 also and that scope forced me to have to stretch my neck too far forward to use it so I ordered a different scope. I dont see why Savage chose that cheesy scope.

Toolman I have a Simmons 6.5x20x44 AO scope and a Nikon 3x9x40Prostaff. Why do you think the Nikon would be better for my new 110? I just got the 110 and havent fired it yet. Im trying to decide which scope would be better for deer.

Im answering my own post. I just eyeballed the two scopes on my 110. The Nikon tube is too short for the long action 30-06 Savage so the 6.5x20x44 Simmons wins by default. The shorter action 308 can probably use the Nikon Prostaff. I have the Prostaff on my 10/22 and it is probably more than a 22 needs.
