How are Barska Optics?

I was looking for a really good and fair priced optic for my M4. Something compact, clear, and will get me good results. Barska had some nice scopes for decent prices. How are they? Any good?

I bought one to test on my AR-15, and so far for a cheap scope it seems to be fine. It mounts up tight and seems clear enough with the right amount of eye relief...so no complaints yet.

Sweet. I want a good compact scope with decent eye relief. I have an NC Star and it is good, but the eye relief on it sucks big time.

I've got some cheap Barska binoculars that work just fine. I've never used one of their scopes tho.

I have the 10-40x50 Barska Tactical Scope. It is AWESOME! IR MilDot, high zoom, rangefinder, it mounts tight and eye relief is great for my Bushmaster XM15.

I recommend them highly.

Well yea, considering most range-owned spotting scopes are only 8x zoom, that 10-40x usually is much more zoom power.

I have one for my AR. It's the compact 9". Looked good in store. But on rifle the edges are blurred.
Can shoot better groups at 100 yrd open sights than with the scope.
Hmmm?

I personally don't like them. You get what you pay for. Shooting 500 yards with a .223 can be difficlut, let alone with a cheap scope. Had one on a 12 gauge slug gun, and it wouldnt hold a zero.

Sorry about the mistake, I was looking at 2 different threads. Still cant recommend a Barska though.

I have one on my custom 10/22. It is o.k. Does the job on the .22lr, but I am not sure how it would do on something with recoil. From using mine, I would not buy one for anything but a .22lr. The clearity is pretty good; on par or better than other cheap scopes. With optics, I have found that you do get what you pay for. My favorite resonably priced scope is "Sightron".
