Well now that we have AH's scope problem solve, I would like to pose this question - what scope would you guys mount on a DPMS AR-10 (.308) with an 18" bull barrel? I also have a $300 buget. About broke after buying the dang rifle!

SilverRun PLEASE check out the site I bought my scope at, they sell all brands of scopes. I'm sure you'll find one you'll like at an excellent price and they ship them the day you order...A.H

I looked at their web site to help decide which I wanted. They do have good prices, but I have my C&R so I get dealer pricing at Midwayusa.com and Grafs.com. It is hard for SWFA to compete with that. Thanks for mentioning them - they do have a fine website.

I just ordered this scope 3-10×44 Tac II*•*Mueller Optics from grafs.com. It has gotten several good reviews for people that should know. I hate buying something I am not familiar with though. I guess I will see if I got burned or not. I will let you guys know.

Gday guys, I'm looking for a scope to put on my BSA 7X57 to replace the 8X40 Leupold that I have. I'de like a bit further range on my optics for night shooting if possible. I a currently tossing up between

Mueller Tac II 3.5-10X44 scope for $269.99
and
Leupold 4.5-14X40 LR scope (has the 30mm tube) at $569.99

At the mo I'm partial to the Mueller cos of the $3 hund price diff . I'm sure the Leupold is superior optics but just seems like a lot to pay for a margin of improvement.

Any suggestions?

I'm partial to Weaver scopes as I've had excellent results with them for 20+ yrs of shooting. I've dropped them, had them rained on, and used them in temps ranging from 20 F. to 110 F. with no problems-ever. They are cheaper than Leupold and tough as an anvil. My favorite hunting scope of all time is the tried-and-true K-6. Burris and Nikon make a darned good scope as well. You can't go wrong with Leupold, Leica, Swarovski, Schmidt and Bender, or any other high-dollar scope, but you don't always need the extra bells and whistles.

I'm open to your suggestion's and $ 300.00 is the max I can spend. A lot of you members live in states with more big game to hunt than we have here which are Deer and Hogs.
