Thumbs up sight paint range report

some of you may have noticed that a few of us members wanted to paint our front sights on our handguns.
this report isn't scientifical but here goes.
after applying 2 coats of white and 1 coat of flat blaze orange paint.
i went to the range.
speed of target acquisition was dramatically improved.
put target on top of the orange blob, squeeze and BLAMMO!
a nailed bowling pin!

ruger sp-101

raging bull 454 casull

P.S.
the 454 does a number on a bowling pin.
i need to get some more!

total cost.
$3.14

Looks sweet . What kind of paint? I would love to surround the front night site on my Springer with that if i could keep it out of the dot. They are just bland in daylight, I could aim faster. Do they make it in green? My eyes pick up green faster for some reason.

i had some KRYLON spray paint laying around so i squirted some into a puddle and used a toothpick for a brush.
look for some testors model paint.

that 1911 was working for me really well for me today.
with my reloads and that improved sight i was able to nail my target often enough to make me smile.
i am loading up a few hundred tonite for tomorrows fun!

I mix a little epoxy glue with the paint, makes it lasts a lot longer.

i put super glue over it.
if you get too much and it gets on the barrel dont worry.
acetone on a q-tip will clean it right up

Thanks Billy...mine are still being worked. I got my 45 sights to look pretty good, but need to redo the 44's.
