What the heck is that billy? It looks like a tripod mount for a camera adapted to fit a rifle.

Sinclair Forend Benchrest Adaptor This benchrest forend adaptor quickly converts almost any stock into a benchrest stock. No modifications to your stock are necessary. Simply insert the appropriate screw (included) through the forend adaptor and thread it into the front sling stud hole. The side plates adjust inward to configure to the forend design of your rifle. Cork material protects the stock finish. The 3” wide bottom plate is made of solid UHMW, which has a low coefficient of friction. This material was selected to provide consistent and smooth recoil in your rifle rest.

This assumes the rifle has a sling stud and sling stud hole. I own four rifles, none of which has either.

Admittedly, three of them are Mosin Nagants and the other is a CETME.

I am with you JAC. I don't have a rifle with a sling stud on it. As a mater a fact I only own one rifle at the moment. I got rid of my M44 so I could have the cash to make the deal of the century for my Ruger P89. I paid 245 for it! Although I may be adding another rifle to the collection this weekend. P.S. How do you like that CETME. It's on my most wanted list!

I love it. It's been a bit of a problem-child, but I think the issue was with the mag-springs being too weak, not the rifle.

You can read about my experiences with it here: JAC (I couldn't hold out)

I got a used Beretta Tomcat in .32 today. A compromise between a .38 snubby and a .25 auto...

that would definately be a handy little accessory for getting "sporter" stocks to sit nice in the front bag!
