| Registered User | Safe Recommendations Hi, Our safe's keypad and light are damaged and we were looking replace our safe. We want to get a safe that fits nicely 1-2 handguns and a few important documents. If it has an internal light, that'd be a plus. Any suggestions on a sturdy and reliable safe that you've had experience with? Thanks in advance! - Jessica |

| Senior Member | If you have Craig's list in your area, look at used floor safes. I got a used $200, fire resistant safe, large enough for two pistols and important papers for $50. Bolt it to the floor!

| Senior Member | Just buy a big one. Something that if discovered during a robbery, can't be picked up and carried off. If that's your route, we found a smaller fireproof safe, about 20" tall, 13-15" wide and maybe 10-13" deep. Not sure on exact size. Got it at K-Mart for &89.99 and it is made by Brinks... It can be bolted to the floor. If someday you see getting a rifle, might just consider getting a good sized one. You'll find plenty to keep in it. Cameras, firearms, important papers, other valuables, etc.etc.etc... By the way, you can make something fireproof. Just get fire code drywall, about 3/4" or 5/8" thickness and put along the inside of something. That's all that's inside a safe anyhow, underneath the fancy lining they use. Good luck...
