Speaking of safes, I need another...

I'm kicking around the thought of getting a big one.. I've got a Stack On Elite 24 gun, and an American Eagle 28 gun safe, and am kicking around getting the 45 gun Stack On Elite..

Anybody here have one?? Dunhamms has them for $829 right now, and rather than spending another $600 for another smaller safe, I figured I'd grab a monster for not that much more, and elimintate the need for another safe for a while.. (hopefully)

Anyway, just wondered if anyone had the 45 gun model and what they thought of it? My 24 gun isn't as nice as some of the "pretty" safes that cost twice as much, but I'm after lockable storage..

If that's what you're in the market for Paper, then by all means get what you think you need and will work for you for years to come. Just make sure to check the fire rating temp. and for how long. Also, with the one in the picture, not much shelf space. It will hold plenty of rifles, but not room for much else.
Isn't there a version or style that will hold quite a few rifles and still offer shelf space? Or don't you need shelf space? No handguns to need to keep in there also?

This is the one, or similar to what I went with. But you need more rifle space. Remember also, when you get it, generally if it is delivered, it's only to the street or drive way. Up to you to get it in the house. Decide where it's going to go first and how you'll get it there. lol This is exactly the style I got. Only instead of saying PIONEER, it says WELLS FARGO and I got the Hunter green color. 1300 degrees for 45 minutes is good. Scroll down and look at the picture of the inside. plenty of shelf space. But again, if you need more rifle space, then this one not quite the size then. The guy I got mine from, can't remember, like 4 years ago, gave free shipping to the driveway. Most will be delivered LTL (less then loaded).

The 45 gun can be set up a bunch of ways, actually. Here's a photo from the manufacture with all the variations.

Stack-On | Elite Fire Resistant Safes

And the fire rating on these is 1400 for 30 minutes. As I read here on another post, the intense heat and the water used to put them out pretty much ruins the guns inside, even with this or even better heat rating..

I'm mostly after lockable storage in case of theft. Odd for our area around here, but my house is on a slab, so I'm actually anchoring the safe directly to concrete on the main (also only) floor of my home.

On a side note, Glockmeister, Stack On is right in your and my back yard.. They're out of Wauconda, IL, so I sent down an email to see if they ever have any safes that are more or less "scratch and dent" for sale at the factory. I have access to a large, industrial appliance cart, and a nice heavy duty trailer (and big friends), so I'll see what that gets me. I can easily live with a dent as long as it's not around the door..

Also, if I can get a scratch and dent model for a discount, I'd actually go for the real MONSTER and get the 60 gun model.. That should keep my from needing another safe for months..

Where would you put that monster and how do you move it throughout your house?

Against a wall in a spare bedroom, and moving it is actually the easy part. I have concrete floors, and I have access to equipment dollys at work.. Get it where I want it, lift the carpeting inside the safe, and hammer drill some holes for concrete anchors.

Bad news is that Stack On sent me a very polite "No" on selling directly to me.
