Sten kits

My friend has sten kit from years past. We were debating on how to go about geting a receiver made after making it legal, seeing as the action is currently full auto. We know that they make weld on parts to make it semi auto, but could you just attach the receiver to it post bolt modification and call it legal?

NO!

Some time ago I looked into this and and read the actual memo from ATF. In order to make it legal it must be completely rebuilt on a smaller diameter tube (I believe it's 1/4" smaller); The FCG must be redone so as not to be readily able to become Full Auto and it must be fired from a closed bolt. This would mean that most all of your internal parts would be useless.

Google around as there are lots of people who have looked into what you want to do.
