Tokarev Tt-33 Caliber Conversion? Hello to All! I am now the proud owner of a very nice Russian Tokarev TT-33, in the original 7.62 caliber. I have been told that a 9mm barrel and magazine will convert this pistol to 9x19mm as a simple drop-in procedure. Is this true? I'm not really hankering to shoot 9mm in this gun- it's more just for curiosity's sake. Thanks very much for your time and input. Regards, Sgt. Q

I have not tried it myself, but I too have heard the same thing. The 9mm parabellum fits my magazine, but not sure how the feeding would be. I saw and did not buy a new Chinese 9mm, wish I had gotten it now. I have a Polish TT-33, and really like it. Where did you find the Russian? I've only seen a couple, and they were not in the best of shape.

This was a Vietnam bringback- most of these war trophy guns were Chinese, but there were some Russian pistols used by the VC and NVA too. The officer who brought this one back had it parkerized by a unit armorer, so it's not all that collectable, but at least it has not been import stamped or had an aftermarket safety installed. I really like it. Regards, Sgt. Q <o>
