The K-31 is in caliber 7.5X55mm, 30 cal & 4mm longer than a .308. Ammo that I have purchased was 60 rounds for $30 and going up. Non corrosive from the start, military ammo is called GP-11.
Rifles start at around $130 and go up to about $200 from what I have seen.
Most people seem to think they are the most accurate general mil-surp rifle.
Straight pull bolt action that is very smooth. Magazines cost around $55 and sometimes have to be fitted to the individual rifle.
Just some of what I have found out since buying one about 8 months ago.

Excellent rifles. My favorite surplus bolt action. Very accurate. Get one! Wolf and a few others are importing ammo.

I saw two of them at one of my favorite pawn shops last week going for $179. The price included the muzzle cap and the sling. The condition of both of them were good. For that price, if I did not already have one, I would buy one of them (one was sold while I was there).

I bought a box of Privi Partzan 7.5x55 a couple of weeks back for $13.95, not bad I think. I have seen some of the Wolf Gold ammo but as I recall the price was a little more.

I have not seen any of the GP11 (surplus) ammo in quite some time. That was good stuff!

As far as accuracy? Probably the most accurate milsurp bolt action rifle that money can buy. I like them because the recoil is not harsh like 8mm and the sights are easier to shoot with.

I do reload 7.5x55 but have not done so in quite some time. Best of luck in your endeavors. Be sure and post some pictures when you can.

The caliber sits right between a .270 and a 30-06.

I just did a test recipe resizing .284 brass and I'm hoping to form fire it Wednesday or Thursday.

Thumbs up

I consider the 7.5 Swiss as basically a "Light .308", since it uses a standard .308 bullet. Definitely the most accurate of all my milsurps!

The Swiss K-31 7.5X55mm and the 6.5X55mm are suppose to be great. lower recoil, deer size calibers around

I just recently scoped mine, I thought it was accurate before, talk about a tack driver. I see no need for extra magazines the feeder clips work very well and you can buy them even on e-bay. I have the St. Marie clamp on scope mount, can't tell you how happy I am with it. I'm glad I bought a few cases of GP-11, can't find it anymore. I've used this rifle when I go boar hunting and it gets the job done.
