No functional issues? Now that is amazing . . . french rifles can be pretty accurate.

I have a MAS 36 7.5 mm. Inexpensive and shoots nice and tight. Still don't like the French.

My shooting buddy has the MAS 36 boltie and two MAS49/56 rifles, one in original 7.5 French and one modified to .308. The 7.5 rifles function perfectly and are quite accurate. The .308 is very quirky, and has major cycling problems, as many do. I had gotten one too, and made some attempts to fix it. Got it better, but never very reliable. Finally sold it. The "Jews For The Preservation Of Firearms Ownership" (JPFO site) website has instructions on how to fix them - I saw it AFTER I had sold the rifle - "DOH!" ![]() Other than the unreliability, I liked the rifle. Felt good, handled well, was handy and I liked the looks. I like 'odd' guns. I'd like to get another, but prices have really skyrocketed!
