French Model 1935 pistol.

Went to my local dealer today and seen something that I recognized instantly, but never seen out side of a book before. It was a French Model 1935 pistol. I asked him if that's what it was and he said "It sure is!" with a big smile, then pulled it outta the case and handed it right over to me and continued to talk to me about it. He didn't have a price on it, so I asked what he was wanting for it he told me he hadn't even figured that out yet. lol Talk to him about it for a little longer and he told me that what was really awesome is that he had some ammo for it too, the 7.65 Longe! He went back towards the back of his shoppe and fetched a medium sized, dingy, dirty doggy bag and brought it up and opened it. Grab a round out to show me and told me that he had to TALK a guy into trading that bag of ammo in out right for a BRAND NEW Glock Model 17! I knew the ammo was pretty much impossible to come by, but is it really worth that much? Couldn't have been more than 200rds in that bag. Still, that was the BEST feeling pistol I've even seen! Small, very slim grip, yet a guy my size (6'6) feels perfectly fine with it! Lovely pistol! Just wondering if anyone here has one, shot one, played with one? The big question is though, is that ammo really THAT scarce? It's very odd ammo too, only about .32 in diameter but probably 20+ mm case length. Just curious about this little gun, and it's ammo.

If that dealer is trading a Glock for 200 rounds of 7.65 Longe, the cartridge must be rare as hen's teeth! I suppose it's not the same as the old 7.65 Luger cartridge, is it? Anyone out there have the cartridge case spec on 7.65 Luger, you know, 7.65 x [X]mm? Even if it feels oh so right, to me it makes no sense to buy a pistol you can't get ammo for. 200 rounds of ammo is barely enough to get acquainted with a pistol.

It's called 7.65 MAS. The French copied the 30 Penderson round( the shell for the Penderson device that made the 03 Springfield into a smi-auto) . If it was old French ammo it was worth about $4 a round. If it was 30 Penderson ammo it would be worth $12 to $15 a round. If it had a headstamp like FA 18 on it it was 30 Penderson.
