| Hello all! Just thought I'd share the newest addition to my collection of ComBloc milsurps.... It's a 1954 Polish TT. I'm still not sure of what factory it came from, but the mark is a Circle-11. For range purposes regular FMJ is fine, but as a defensive load it's way too hot, especially for surplus steel-core. A 7.62 hardball flying at 1600+fps is going to drill straight through a soft target.... not many criminals run around with body armor. Even the factory HP 7.62x25 is still 1500+fps. Once I've got my hands on some HP rounds I'll test them to see what kind of wound potential they've got. If it turns out they're still too hot, I'm going to buy some 7.62x25 dies and experiment with loading-down some rounds topped with either Wolf HPs or Magsafes to the vicinity of 1200fps, and see how that works. Hopefully it'll still maintain enough recoil impulse to cycle the TT. |
