Thanks Meister! I hope this deal sticks around for a while as I have soooo many firearm NEEDS these days. I figure it would be best to purchase a 44 mag need before my 1911 wants.

High Noon, if it doesn't, just search GunbRoker, Auction Arms, Guns America or Guns International as all 4 auction sites have them for close to that price. Sure, some will be and are higher, but it's just a matter of searching and patiently waiting.
Good luck.
Oh, and sadly, FWIW, my getting one looks to be on hold indefinitely.

Bought my Super Hawg hi capacity used, with custom trigger work, disabled grip safety and target barrel. It is a beast, in all stainless, with a 6" barrel. Shoots like a dream, and highly accurate. I consider Canada to be almost the US, but I know Para moved their manufacturing to NC, and I believe everything comes from there now. I am completely in 'like' with my Para, and would unconditionally recommend the company, based on the Super Hawg.
After about 3 weeks of GENTLE handling, the "paint" (Para Kote) on my Para GI is wearing off and flaking on the sharp corners of the slide.I contacted them, and they think it is a defective finish, and will fix it; but I have to pay shipping to send it in.
Since the defect seems to be confined to the slide,( and the end of the recoil plug,) I think I'm gonna just send those parts back by USPS, and save some $.
Para said that was ok.
The gun feels better and shoots better than any 1911 I've had; hate to be without it for repairs, but that's unavoidable. It's my current house pistol.

Basically got the run around from Para on my finish problem, even after sending them good pics of the defects.Long story, but it boiled down that they may have charged me a fee to repair a 2 wk old gun!!Found out the slide is stainless steel under that "paint", so got a 'smith to glass bead the slide to natural ss.Looks good!
I did nothing to cause the "paint" to start wearing and chipping. I have a Keltec 380 and a DB380 that I've carried in a pocket for 2 years; one is blue, the other a matte black. There is not a mark on the finish of either one, so it ain't my fault!

There is a P14-45 in my house. It used to be my duty weapon until my dept went to glock 40s. then the wife fired the Para and claimed it as hers
I thought their service centers used to be in NC/TN, close to the HQ.
They aren't far from me...but their firearms are quite spectacular, and the prices are quite fair.
They have been in the USA since the end of 2008. When they were in Canada their service center was in TN. A little over a year ago their service center moved to the factory in NC.
I own quite a few Para pistols, made in both Canada and USA, I love the pistols.
I realize that it is just about impossible to find anything that is made in the USofA much less something that has parts. I'm checking out 1911's and have yet to get my hands on a Para but the GI expert is a fine looking piece. Anyone know if they are made here or are they just "assembled" here?
Its my understanding that the Canadian factory closed in 2008. Now my question is how can you tell where the para was made? Is there a certain letter or number in the serial number or a different symbol somewhere on the gun?

I purchased a P14-45 SS last week and it...is...nice!
Made in the USA.
Have you measured your trigger pull yet? My Limited breaks at 4.25 lbs. and my standard at 4.5lbs. I finally broke down and checked them about two weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised.
