Which calibers?

Now which semi auto pistol calibers would you want a newly manufactured carbine in?

Had to go with the tokarev... It's bottlenecked anyway, and I'd really like to see somebody make a carbine for it. A nice little semi would be awful fun. Might even make a good "urban combat" carbine for police use. Better penetration than normal pistol cartridges, but far less danger of overpenetration than .223 or .308.

Lightbulb What, no .30 Carbine!?

I voted .45 ACP - been wanting one for awhile now. Preferably using 1911 magazines, to compliment my pistol.
Thought about the 7.62 Tokarev, but it does nothing that a good .30 Carbine can't do. Still might be fun though.

I figure the 30 carbine with its hi cap mags would be good on a new platform, cause there are good and bad things about the M1 Carbines out there, and I figure another option would be good. Olympic arms is going to put out an AR in 30 carbine that uses M1 mags.

I thought the principal of the pistol caliber carbine was primarily a house defense gun that was supposed to be quiet, low recoil, easy to maneuver, the .30 cal carbine has too much blast and noise to justify it's use in a house gun, besides, there is already a .30 cal. carbine.

9mm because it's cheap. 10mm and 357sig because they are modern high powered cartridges and would be easily managable in a rifle.

For calibers I like 9mm and .45,the others have too much blast and flash, defeating the whole principal of the pistol caliber carbine in the first place, you might as well use any short barreled rifle and blind yourself and go deaf after the first shot,at least that's my opinion.

7.62x25mm Tokarev...

Then I'd have a companion rifle for my 5 CZ52's!

There ya go BR, an AR in .45 WinMag! I've got some .50 Beowolf at the shop, I gotta compare physical size between the two rounds? Of course the fitty is larger diameter, but I don't think there's much differance in case or overall length.
