Concept (the 5 gazillionth one)

Ok, here's an idea...
Thinking about what's the best setup for a pistol caliber carbine, and seeing as people pay plenty for an AR carbine, what if someone made a carbine that looks like an AR, operates much like an AR, but with simpler internals, like straight blowback. It would be generally smaller than an AR, with a pistol caliber length action, and would feed with subgun mags.
I figure if people buy entire AR carbines for pistol calibers, they could spend a bit less and get one more compact and dedicated to that caliber.
Just picture an AR with a mag well for subgun mags, a lower barrel axis, and a shorter action. Wouldn't be as space aged in the curves, but they aren't functional anyway.

Farthest thing from it. I'm talking alloy or steel upper with lower trigger/grip assembly. Mag well would probably be in upper receiver like FAL. Furniture could even be from the AR for standardization. Maybe even a firing component or two. Plus a picatinny rail for a carry handle and front site.

Hi Points have a single piece polymer stock with a single stack mag in the grip. And I don't think what I'm describing could co for $150ish. More like $3-400, or more.

Thought about that... Would have to buy one to see, and take it apart. While Hi-Point itself could easily just mold it with another mag well, and even then it would probably only be able to use pistol, not subgun mags. My objective is an AR style carbine using cheap and big subgun mags.

Tell ya what, there's a few screwed up damaged hi-points out there, suppose anyone would want to send me one for a song (I do sing) and I could rip it open and see what can be done?
